They Will Remember This

While I was at the boutique this past Saturday, Justin and the kids had one "to do" for the day.  Go to Costco (which they always enjoy doing) and bring home a BIG box of diapers and wipes.  Imagine this...a baby in a bijorn, a 3 and 5 yr. old in the cart side by side in Costco with all of the new spring items adorning the many isles...yes, recipe for disaster...no recipe for spending dollars on things like a slip-n-slide.  Here is the kicker...they forgot the diapers and wipes!

When they returned home, our sweet little guy asked over and over, "Is it warm outside yet?"...we had to break the news to him that this is one of the coldest March's we have seen and that he had to wait till summer to set up the slip-n-slide...that didn't work!  He continued to ask until bed time and...you guessed it, the child woke up and the first thing he asked was, "Is it warm outside now?"  This past Sunday was 40 degrees and pouring rain..."No buddy, its not warm, its quite the opposite!"

After his asking one hundred more times, Justin and I bundled them like it was snowing and off we went...into the backyard to set up the slip-n-slide.  They will always remember this...

Facebook is not a Blog

After reading through several friends blogs on a regular basis, I quickly realized that it can be so much more than a list of events, numerous pictures and a way for families to pour over pictures. Blogs inspire me to be a better mom, take risks, create new goals, be a better wife, read God's word...etc.

The "type A" in me quickly wanted to give my blog (that has not been updated in a long time) a quick makeover...tada!  Now that the makeover is complete, my goal is to share my heart, become a better communicator, reflect, and ultimately try my hardest not miss a single blessing that God has in store for me this year. Tall order for myself, right? I truly believe that God wants to bless us, each one of us.  We have to meet Him at the cross and be willing to walk in the word and listen.

I have to start now- I always default to Facebook to share photos of my crew, details of days gone by and to update family out of state on our week, weekend ahead, etc.  I have neglected this blog for way too long.  It is time to start using this location as our virtual memory go to.  Just the other day we were trying to remember Blane's first word...my how it becomes hard to remember these little things.  So here is to a grand effort in 2013 to blog about life, love, decorating, kids, dogs and all things important around this crazy beautiful home (not house, HOME)!  In tonight's news, we are working on a double ear infection- ugh!  After 9 days of one antibiotic- we are onto another.  Mason is the last in the family to come down with this not so nice virus with a vengeance.  Prayers for my sweet little guy-that he sleeps tight and that he feels better come morning.

Mason Hayes with swollen eyes and sweet smile.
